Ghostly Assassin's Revelation
Kurayami goes on a mission to pay back his dues for the month of his assassin company. Suddenly, he gets attacked and taken in by ghost-like creatures, where he is examined. He realizes the world is being taken over by ghosts, and they do it so seamlessly that nobody suspects a thing. The creatures check what makes humans so strong that some could even match the ghosts’ power. These so-called assassins are part of the three main groups. Not knowing such folklore was real, Kurayami uses his powers; however, he gets caught because he couldn’t detect what these beings were that attacked him. He’s very strong, but there’s always someone better. Kurayami is just one of 15 assassins in these groups, specifically trained by the elders. Showing his true power, the ghost is now petrified, forced to unleash abilities that Kurayami has never seen before. He must adapt quickly. As a kid, Kurayami was lonely, with few friends. He turned to a life of killing to cope with his frustrations. Amidst all this, Kurayami was one of the fastest learners in his assassin group. He can predict people’s moves—but at a cost. Great attributes emerge only when he’s enraged. The ghost is shocked but puts up a fight, only to be defeated by Kurayami. Afterward, he returns to the hideout without any trophy or prize to prove his kill, knowing he can’t turn it in for money. He informs them there’s a bigger problem and shows them a piece of the ghost. Some members have already seen something like this. These ghosts are classified as Class X-IV (known as a 4th class ghost), meaning this one was significant but not a match for Kurayami. They will have to do better. Overwhelmed by it all, he takes some time off at a bar, where he meets a guy with scars and only one eye. A girl appears too, but he doesn’t seem to care, merely acknowledging her presence. While the guy chats with Kurayami, he hears key words that imply the stranger is an assassin looking for a ghost, just like him. He talks about better pay than humans and how he can finally see his family. Kurayami remembers his own upbringing with two loving parents and a sister. His mom was killed in an accident, and his dad fell victim to criminals. That’s why he took on this life. Now, he finds himself entangled in something else entirely—but all he truly desires is to live a normal life.
