Lyrics
The frost is biting at the glass. The summer greens have long since fled.A heavy sky of bruised and leaden cloudsIs hanging low above the dead.Ring out the cold, ring in the night. The heavy iron shakes the floor.Bells of winter, bells of fright.Knocking at the chapel door.Ring out the cold, ring in the night. The heavy iron shakes the floor.Bells of winter, bells of fright.Knocking at the chapel door. The steeple sways against the wind. The ropes are frayed and pulling tight.A frantic tolling for a hidden sinAcross the fields of blinding white.Ring out the cold, ring in the night. The heavy iron shakes the floor.Bells of winter, bells of fright.Knocking at the chapel door.Ring out the cold, ring in the night. The heavy iron shakes the floor.Bells of winter, bells of fright.Knocking at the chapel door.No comfort in the chimney smoke. No mercy in the freezing rain. The copper tongue has finally spokeTo herald all the coming pain.Ring out the cold, ring in the night. The heavy iron shakes the floor.Bells of winter, bells of fright.Knocking at the chapel door.Ring out the cold, ring in the night. The heavy iron shakes the floor.Bells of winter, bells of fright.Knocking at the chapel door.
