Lyrics
The morning sun is peeking through the blindsA stack of papers and a peaceful mindWe’re hiding behind the big oak doorWith things we’ve never brought to school beforeSunlight dances on the dusty floorWe’re waiting for your step along the corridorThank you for the light you bringThank you for the way we singPetals in a vase of blueCards we made especially for youWe wrote our names in every spaceJust to see the smile upon your faceThank you for the light you bringThank you for everythingRed and yellow markers on the pageYou helped us find our voice at every ageMusic notes are floating through the airLike every little lesson that you shareYou taught us how to be brave and kindLeaving all the rainy days behindThank you for the light you bringThank you for the way we singPetals in a vase of blueCards we made especially for youWe wrote our names in every spaceJust to see the smile upon your faceThank you for the light you bringThank you for everythingYears from now when we are grownWe’ll remember all the seeds you’ve sownIn this room where big dreams startWe’ll keep your kindness in our heartThank you for the light you bringThank you for the way we singPetals in a vase of blueCards we made especially for youWe wrote our names in every spaceJust to see the smile upon your faceThank you for the light you bringThank you for everything
